Sarah Johnson joined Cherokee Film as a Marketing Specialist in 2024. Before joining the team, Sarah had over a decade-long career in public health. Her most proud accomplishments were working as a patient advocate, working to improve birth outcomes in Oklahoma as a public speaker and as a quality improvement specialist. In this role, Sarah gained an appreciation for the power of storytelling. She recognized that sharing her own birth story helped connect people to humanity and inspire change. In her role as a marketing specialist, Sarah combines a passion for her Cherokee heritage, her love of storytelling and her education in communications to support the work of all four branches of Cherokee Film. Sarah was born and raised in the capital of the Cherokee Nation and is a proud graduate of Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s in strategic communications and digital strategy from the University of Oklahoma. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and three children at their home in Owasso, OK.
